Jeanette Smith
Operations Committee Chair
The Operations Committee works to ensure the monthly meetings of the SAOS are successfully implemented. Many members participate.
Hospitality Table. Unlike many societies that solicit volunteers to bring refreshments each month, our gracious hostess Jeanette Smith provides the goodies on our hospitality table. Throw your spare change into the donations jar to fund her efforts.
Welcome Table. Rae Coletti and Dick Roth man the Welcome Table to greet visitors and guests and give out name tags. If you have questions, they'll introduce you to someone who will get you the answers.
Raffle Tickets. Plants are available on the raffle table at each meeting. Christie Peppard organizes the plant raffle and runs the raffle and auction with Auctioneer Extraordinaire Fred Keefer. Somehow our newcomers always seem to go home with a new orchid!
Show Table. Members bring their blooming orchids to the show table. After oohing and aahing, members are asked to vote for their favorite orchid on the Show Table and Dick Roth announces the Members Choice. Terry Bottom photographs the orchids.
Clean Up Volunteers. Volunteers stay a little while after the meeting to help rearrange and clean up tables and sweep up. Watson Realty graciously offers us the use of their conference room, we need to leave it in as good or better condition than we found it. |
